ABOUT

Maggie Bennett received her 200hr certification from Three Sisters Yoga (NYC) under the direction of Jen Whinnen. As a dancer, Maggie was introduced to yoga at an early age as a tool for cross training and mending injuries. Over time, her interest in the philosophy and subtler aspects of yoga lead her to teacher training. Her style of teaching blends Vinyasa and Hatha practices, while incorporating years of training with somatics. With continuing studies in meditation, yoga and mind/body practices, Maggie works to find new approaches to her methods of teaching. She enjoys working with students of all levels, from the novice to the advanced yogi, cultivating classes that focus on alignment, breath and efficiency in movement.

TEACHING PHILOSOPHY

I share this practice to help others become mindful of  their bodies, slow down, and connect to the present moment. As yoga continues to spread rapidly across the globe, it can be challenging to know what type of class you are walking into. My approach to teaching is to present a simple asana practice,  one which warms up the body and calms the mind.

It's important for me to create a space that is open and improvisational. A class which is easily altered for students depending on age, ability and energy. My hope is you will leave the class with a small insight into yourself, something to take with you on this long journey.
